More than an average police department
In addition to regular duties which include traffic enforcement, processing citizen complaints and crime reports, Coquille Police are engaged in animal control, child services, and ongoing community education in crime prevention.
Coquille Police Department proudly sponsors an annual National Night Out event.
“It’s America’s night out against crime,” Coquille Police Chief Janice Blue.
The event is an opportunity to help provide assistance to the community by highlighting services provided by a variety of organizations including Coquille Police Department.
The department also organizes and operates Neighborhood Watch groups within the City of Coquille. Citizens are encouraged to contact the police department prior to leaving on vacations or extended outings so that home patrols may be made.
The Coquille Police Department operates a Police Reserve Program. Police reserves are a community resource during times of need such as major incidents. Police Reserves are actively involved in crime scene protection and evidence collection. In addition, the department operates a Police Volunteer Program. Volunteers work within the department offices.
